Myths of Weight Training
Myth: Weight training will result in undesirable muscle development in a women.
Fact: The development of muscle tissue is enhanced by the presence of testosterone. Testosterone is more prevalent in males, then in females. Therefore it is MUCH more difficult to produce LARGE muscle mass through training.
Myth: If you stop weight training, muscle will turn into fat.
Fact: Muscle and fat are completely differnt tissues. They cannot be converted into the other. It is possible if you stop training and lower physical activity your muscles will shrink and if your calorie intake is the same as when being active you may gain fat.
Myth: Weight training causes inflexibility
Fact: If the program includes stretching and full range of motion resistance exercises your flexibility should improve.
